Healics History
Healics was founded in 1985 by Leigh Cord. Prior to starting Healics, he held the position of Administrator of Health and Wellness at Blue Cross & Blue Shield United of Wisconsin. His passion for wellness came after the tragic loss of his wife to lung cancer in 1979. Leigh realized that one route to achieving his goal of educating people about their health risks was through employer health plans. In addition, he saw the need for a computerized health risk reporting and tracking system coupled with services such as worksite health screens, onsite counseling, and onsite wellness programs. Healics has been providing employers with these services for over 20 years.
Healics has grown from one client in 1985 to more than 200 clients today - we process approximately 60,000 HRAs annually. Healics utilizes a network of community providers who work hand-in-hand with local employers to screen their employees and deliver their health risk results. For employers with multi-state locations, Healics partners with organizations that offer nationwide services. In addition, we offer a range of online services so we can reach employees and their spouses wherever they are located.
Our Mission
At Healics, our mission is to work with employers to educate their employees about their personal health risks through participation in an annual health risk assessment (HRA) and to assist them in achieving a healthy lifestyle - all HRA participants are encouraged to share their results with their personal physician. Our goal is to empower people to care for themselves.
